From Sept 15th – Dec 14th, a new pop-up studio is opening in partnership with Artsite & the North Star New Wave Sound Collective.
North Star New Wave are a new collective of local young artists & producers, and for 3 months they’ll be turning 2A Havelock Sq into a site for live music. The unit will be open to the public during business hours, giving people the opportunity to talk to the musicians, see new music being made, and even get involved! The Group’s newest collection of music is titled ‘Do They Owe Us A Living?’, featuring the voices of Swindon’s public woven into exciting new electronic music. This new music will be debuted on Dec 13th, at the groups final big evening gig.
North Star New Wave are sharing the unit with their partners Artsite, who will be commissioning a series of artists to respond to the idea of ‘Repair & Renewal’. Artists will be capturing the essence of Swindon in visual media and showcasing their work in 2A Havelock, to compliment the music being made alongside it.
Together, these two teams will be programming a range of Day-time and Evening events. Including Listening Parties, Interactive Installations, Artist Residencies, Exhibitions, and DJ events.
